About Ashoka University
Ashoka University is a private, non-profit liberal arts and sciences university located in Sonipat, Haryana, within the Rajiv Gandhi Education City. Established in 2014, it was founded by a collective of philanthropists and academics with the vision of bringing an interdisciplinary, research-driven model of higher education to India. The university operates as a fully residential campus and has quickly become one of the country's most recognised institutions for liberal education, blending humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and computer science.
The university's approach is built on critical thinking, close faculty mentorship, and cross-disciplinary exploration. Students are encouraged to design their own academic paths, often combining majors and minors across seemingly unrelated fields. Ashoka has seven schools, including the Harish and Bina Shah School of Humanities, the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala School of Economics and Finance, the Trivedi School of Biosciences, and the newly established Vachani School of Advanced Computing. The campus is home to over 3,000 students and has a growing alumni network of more than 5,500 graduates.
Top Courses & Fees
Ashoka offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Undergraduate students can pursue a three-year or four-year honours degree, with the option to add a research component. The first year follows a common core curriculum before students declare their major.
