VIT-AP University, commonly referred to as VIT Amaravati, is a private state university established in 2017 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It operates as a satellite campus of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and shares the same academic framework, curriculum, and entrance examination as the parent institution . The campus is located at Inavolu, beside the AP Secretariat, in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, and spans 200 acres as a fully residential campus .
The university was the first institution to set up a campus in Amaravati after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, with operations beginning in July 2017 .
